I am thinking of you as the whole world is going through a crisis due to Coronavirus. It is absolutely normal to feel all of our feelings as we collectively go through this. However, once our feelings of fear subside, we can also use this opportunity to look at the bigger meaning of things.
This is the first time in history, we are all in it together. No one has been spared despite their wealth or social status. This is the very first time we have closed our borders to wealthy countries like Europe. I have always believed that we are a global family; what affects one of us affects all of us.
It is also time to use this experience to take a stand for the most vulnerable ones in the society, locally and globally, starting at home. I pray that this will be behind us soon and we will take the lessons from this crisis and change our lives for better. We will never look at our lives separate from everyone else in the world. We don’t need to deny what is happening or sugarcoat our feelings, but we can include all others in our feelings.
I feel as though God is saying: ‘you are not as independent as you think.’ Look after each other, even in social distancing, we are asked to protect each other. In spite of how many distractions we have created to stop us from going inwards, we are forced to go inwards because of having to slow down.
I also feel that there is a sense of guilt when it comes to making offerings in our business. Some of us cannot do business if it involves doing business being in-person, however, a lot of us are doing business on-line, there is still hesitation to offer our services.
However, I feel that we do need to continue to share our piece with the world and offer help. If we want to feel better about charging for our services, we can offer discounts to support others as there are people who want to learn new ways of doing business and be innovative. It wouldn’t be fair to deny them the services that can help them be creative in offering their services on-line.
I am on a mailing list of a very creative designer who announced that she doesn’t feel good about offering her services or write about designing homes because of what is going on right now. I wrote to her saying that beauty heals and her work helps people get in touch with their senses by paying attention to the beauty in their homes, what better time to continue to offer her services so people can beautify their homes and feel happy. She thanked me for saying that and offered her services on a discounted price.
I also want to continue to give business to two of my assistants in Philippines. One of them is working on my website. The other one is helping me with sending this newsletter. Sending one newsletter isn’t a lot of business, however, it is something I am still able to do from home while feeling good about giving her some work while their country is going through a lockdown.
I would encourage you to continue to share your gifts with the world and not let this crisis stop you from doing what you are good at. I believe we signed spiritual contracts with God before we came to this planet and part of honouring those contracts is to offer our services.
