The Power of Gratitude


If we want to create more abundance in our lives, we need to be grateful for the abundance we already have in our lives. If we want to create more love in our lives, we need to first notice and be grateful for the love that is already present in our lives. It can be difficult to be grateful and have abundant thoughts when we are struggling to make ends meet. It can be even harder to notice the love in our lives when we are feeling lonely and isolated. However, it is important to be grateful during difficult times even more than during easier times. 

If we focus on being grateful for things we already have in our lives, we create the energy of gratitude, which in turn brings more good to our lives. For example, if we want more money, we can start to notice the money and things we already have in our lives. That way we are not always looking to the future to bring us the money we desire. We are actually appreciating the money we already have by creating the positive energy of money. We are also making ourselves happy by noticing what we already have. 

Most of us unconsciously create things we don’t want by focusing on the thought of not having. It can be difficult to focus on good in our lives when we feel we don’t have what we want. However, unless we focus on what we want to create, we cannot create it. The way to focus on what we want is by being grateful for what we already have. 

I would encourage you to try and be grateful for what you have, and see how the quality of your life improves one day at a time. Take one area of your life where you would like to make some changes. Consciously notice five good things in that area of your life and be grateful for them every day. For example, if you want to improve your business, notice the contacts you make with your clients. Even if the results don’t turn out to be what you had expected, find something to be grateful for. For example the end result that you had wanted may have been to sell your products. But, even if the client didn’t buy your product, make a choice to be grateful that the client enabled you to practice your skills of contacting more clients in the future. Look at this as a learning opportunity and be grateful for it. 

Starting today, promise yourself to deliberately notice and jot down five things to be grateful for every night in your journal in an area of your life where you are struggling. After you have done that for 30 days, notice what has changed. You will be surprised at the gifts of gratitude.
